Determined to be a role player in the telecommunication arena, I devoted two decades in this industry and learned operation of media, businesses and telecommunications thoroughly. During my first ten years of working experience starting from 1988, I experienced positions that covered a wild scope of operation, from Reporter, Executive Producer or Program Director, to News Director, Chief Editor, Producer or Business Development Senior Manager in Marketing or Sales field. Furthermore, the companies I joined are all leading Cable TV systems, Broadcasting TV or Direct to Home (DTH) satellite service companies in Taiwan.
Accomplished my two years’ contribution to DaAi TV by continuous saving up to 31 million NT$ per year ever since 2006, in 2008, I moved to kbro Cable MSO served as an Assistant Vice President, and concurrently as the General Manager of HTC CATV Co., a Cable SO in Northern Taiwan, both belong to Asia branch of US Carlyle Group (kbro was merged by Da-Fu Media in late 2010). Starting 2010 February 1st till now, I was assigned as General Manager in Nantian CATV Co., a Cable SO in Southern Taiwan. Comparatively, from May 2001 till July 2005, I was appointed General Manager to Chi Yuan Cable TV, a Cable SO in Middle Taiwan among Taiwan Broadband Communication (TBC) Cable MSO, which was once also belonged to the US Carlyle Group.
As a General Manager of cable companies, I supervised all of the system’s business operational affairs, including Sales, News, CSRs, Collection, Engineering Departments, as well as involved Rate Lobbying, Governmental, Political, and Public Relations. Most importantly, I kept exceeding monthly and annual Sales & EBITDA budget in Cable, Cable Modem, and Digital TV sales.
Back to September 1998, I joined SpaceTV Systems, the first DTH service company in Taiwan, as the Executive Vice President, oversaw day-to-day operation and financial matters. Moved into Shin Ho Cable TV in November 1999, I was appointed the Vice President handling all operations, including Sales, Customer Services, and News & Programming Departments. In 2000, I further extended my expertise to business development area in Pacific Digital Media, a DTH service company, as Senior Business Development Manager, responsible for Government Information Office (GIO) & public relationship, and proposing a major QAM Technology project – “Digital Pass Through Cable” to the cable operators and its implements. Prior to join TBC, I was the Business Development Director of Chain You Technology, Cytech, responsible for Cable TV QAM Solution in planning, sales and marketing in Taichung.
Born in 1965 in Keelung, I completed my B.A. degree in 1988 in Journalism Department, National Chengchi University, specialized in Radio & Television Production. Subsequently, I worked as a Reporter and Executive Producer in Chinese Television System (CTS), one of the major Broadcasting TV in Taiwan. After my two-year military obligation in Chinese Marine Corps serving as Second Lieutenant and Multi-media Producer, in 1992, I received a M.A. degree in Telecommunication Department, Michigan State University, specialized in Broadcasting & Multi-channel Management.
