Hiroshi Asami received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, in 1980 and the M.S. degree in engineering economic systems from Stanford University, CA, in 1985.
He joined the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (currently Ministry of International Affairs and Communications), Tokyo, Japan, in 1980; since then he has been engaged in telecommunication and broadcasting policies and regulations. During his career in the Ministry, he has been active in developing Japanese digital television standards, and taking leading role to promote full digital migration as Director of Broadcasting Technology Division.
He moved to Japan Cable Television Engineering Association (JCTEA) in 2008; JCTEA is an organization for establishing standards and human resource development for cable television.
